Located in the heart of Streatham, London, this Victorian terrace sat within a Conservation Area and required a thoughtful transformation. The existing home was tired and outdated, with a particular challenge: a dark, enclosed middle section that lacked natural light.
Our design approach focused on revitalising the property with a contemporary yet sensitive intervention. A ground-floor rear extension was introduced to create a more open and spacious living environment. At the heart of the design is a striking up-and-over glass feature adjacent to the kitchen, seamlessly connecting the interior to the garden and flooding the space with daylight.
The new layout embraces modern family living, with an open-plan arrangement that allows for both intimate family moments and larger gatherings. A bespoke kitchen forms the centrepiece, blending functionality with elegance, and anchoring the space as a hub for entertaining. From concept to completion, our services covered every stage, including initial design vision, planning applications, technical detailing, and overseeing construction. The result is a bright, airy, and sophisticated home that respects the property’s Victorian heritage while introducing a contemporary spirit.
